This publication has just been added to the INDOC collection along with several other exhibition catalogues on Erwin Bechtold, a painter who was born in Germany in 1925 and now resides in Spain. The book was published in 1993, so it can no longer be considered a ‘new’ work, but it is nonetheless a high-quality monograph both formally and in terms of its content. The fact that Bechtold himself designed the book lends it particular authenticity. With over 500 pages, the work examines Bechtold’s trajectory as an artist, covering his painting and graphic work, installations, major projects and interior design work. The book also includes a biography of the artist, as well as comments on and images of his studio. Bear in mind that the book does not cover work completed by Bechtold since it was published in 1993.
