Exhibition catalogue on the architectural images of Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto. The show on which the catalogue is based was presented in Chicago in 2003 and in Pasadena in 2004. In view of the strong interest in Sugimoto’s work, Hatje Cantz decided to reissue the catalogue in 2007.  Photographs of public spaces, buildings, unexplored spots and simple, usually unnoticed details demonstrate Sugimoto’s masterful handling of light and the forms suggested to him by architectural structures. His photographs are without doubt impressive works of contemporary art.
