Four exhibitions for this spring at the CDAN |
||
|
Over the next three months the CDAN will offer four exhibitions that reflect the work done by the centre. Until May 11, visitors will be able to enjoy an exhibition devoted to Erwin Bechtold, one of the artists represented in the Beulas-Sarrate collection. Two selections of works from the collection will also be shown in exhibition hall 2. The works exhibited will be chosen by Mariano Anós and Vicente Villarrocha, within the framework of the project A Glimpse Within: New Horizons in the Personal Geography of the Beulas-Sarrate Collection. These shows will bring the total for the series to six. Finally, a major exhibition entitled The Construction of the Contemporary Landscape will open on May 23. The show, curated by Javier Maderuelo and María Luisa Martín de Argila, will take a look at the different ways landscape is now interpreted and how landscape has been recovered in the arts over the postmodern period. |

Bechtold CDAN: An Encounter with Moneo March 14 was the opening date for an exhibition on the career of this German artist now living in Spain. The show contrast Bechtold’s current work with pieces created at different stages of his artistic journey.
The result is a balanced exhibition that highlights different ways in which the artist has explored non-figurative form and the composition of pictorial space, and looks at his attempts to go as far as possible in synthesising his expressive language. Bechtold, one of the artists represented in the Beulas-Sarrate collection, has always been concerned with integrating his work in its architectural setting and has now had an opportunity to see how his paintings come across in the CDAN building, designed by Rafael Moneo. The exhibition will run until 11 May 2008. More information: Web site for the exhibition
A Glimpse Within: New Horizons in the Personal Geography of the Beulas-Sarrate Collection Curated by Chus Tudelilla, A Glimpse Within invites a series of individuals from the world of arts and culture to present new encounters, fresh interpretations and forward-looking approaches to the collection. The selections of works from the collection shown in CDAN exhibition room 2 this spring will be those made by Mariano Anós (until April 6), who is deeply involved in the performing arts, and by painter Vicente Villarrocha (from April 18 to May 11).
