The Construction of the Contemporary Landscape opens |
The CDAN’s major summer exhibition was inaugurated on May 23. The Construction of the Contemporary Landscape looks at how artists have rediscovered landscape in the postmodern period. The opening was well attended, and several of the artists and landscape architects represented in the exhibition were on hand. The show is curated by Javier Maderuelo and María Luisa Martín de Argila and will run until September 28. |

The exhibition includes artworks by some of the artists who have worked on the concept of landscape over recent decades through painting, sculpture, video art and landscape design. The exhibition features artists of the calibre of Isamu Noguchi, Robert Smithson, Richard Long, Jan Dibbets, Alberto Carneiro, David Nash, Ulrich Rückriem, Isidro Blasco, Axel Hütte, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Bleda y Rosa, Gerhard Richter, Jesús Mari Lazkano, Paolo Bürgi y Catherine Mosbach. The video accessed by clicking on the link below provides an overview of the exhibition: The show will coincide with the third course in the Thinking Landscape series, organised by the CDAN. The course, entitled Landscape and Territory, will be held from June 23 to 27. The course programme includes a visit to the exhibition in the company of one of the curators. More information
