100 days of culture, gardens and landscapes at the Apeldoorn Triennial

The Landscape Architecture Triennial will open on June 11 in the Dutch town of Apeldoorn, located 90 km from Amsterdam. This major international event is directed at both the general public and professionals working in the field of landscape architecture. The International Triennial Apeldoorn is a platform for debate that offers an opportunity to enjoy landscape in all its forms. The triennial also includes programming for children that seeks to raise awareness in the next generation. The event will run until 28 September 2008.

The triennial aims to strike a balance between the conservation of landscape heritage and landscapes of the future, between the local and international, and between specialised professionals and the broad public. The event is a platform for debate that offers an opportunity to enjoy landscape in all its varied forms.

The triennial offers:

  • 100 days of landscape experiences with specially-designed cycling and walking tours
  • 100 days to enjoy landscape through numerous exhibitions
  • 100 days of debates and readings on landscape themes.

The programme is highly varied:

The venues for the triennial are the CODA Museum, the Palace of Het Loo, the Kröller-Müller Museum, Radio Kootwijk, Berg & Bos Park, the Netting Factory and De Hoge Veluwe National Park.

The triennial also features an educational programme aimed at involving the next generation in the task of ensuring an intact heritage and liveable environment for a better future.
