CDAN runs second part of photography workshop with Bernard Plossu |
On a weekend devoted to the world of photography (24-25 October), the CDAN hosted the second and final part of a workshop on landscape photography led by French photographer Bernard Plossu. Before the workshop a lecture was given by Paloma Castellanos, the Spanish coordinator of Mexican photographer Pedro Meyer’s Heresies project. The Heresies exhibition can be seen at the CDAN until 9 November 2008. Plossu’s workshop was held in collaboration with the Huesca Art School. |

The CDAN recently devoted two days to photography, exploring the work of Pedro Meyer and Bernard Plossu, two of the most important photographers on the international scene. Focusing on these two artists enabled the Centro de Arte y Naturaleza to present viewers with two different ways of looking at landscape. Before Plossu's workshop, a lecture by Paloma Castellanos, the coordinator of the Heresies project in Spain, gave students an insight into the exhibition of Pedro Meyer’s work. Heresies is a groundbreaking exhibition in terms of both the way it conceives of photography and the approach to exhibiting works: the show is being presented simultaneously worldwide and takes full advantage of new technologies. The lecture by Paloma Castellanos was followed by the second part of Bernard Plossu’s workshop on landscape photography. The session followed up on work done during an excursion to the foothills of the Sierra de Guara back in April. The second stage of the workshop mainly involved viewing and commenting on the works created by the students, most of whom are studying artistic photography at the Huesca Art School, the CDAN’s partner in organising the workshop. Together with Plossu, the CDAN invited Aragonese photographers Pedro Avellaned, Enrique Carbó and Rafael Navarro, writer Antonio Ansón, and poet Paco Grasa to take part. More information
