Artists on the Internet: Vicente Pascual

This month we pay tribute to Aragonese artist Vicente Pascual, who passed away on 25 September. Pascual’s work was shown at the CDAN at the end of 2006 in an exhibition entitled 100 Views of Monte Interior: In Memory of the Madmen of Old. The centre's collection also includes works by the painter.

A visit to Vicente Pascual’s website is a good way to get to know his life and work. The site offers biographical details, information about his artistic activity, and numerous writings on his work.

The website www.vicentepascual.org

Content is in both Spanish and English, and the site is organised in the following sections.

·         Paintings: Visitors can view images of works by Pascual and see how his style evolved from his early days as a partner in ‘La Hermandad Pictórica’ to his more recent creations.

·        Vitae: Vicente Pascual's biography enables us to appreciate the philosophical depth of his artistic output. This section includes a comprehensive list of works by Pascual and exhibitions held in Europe and the United States.

·        Essays offers a compendium of articles on Pascual’s work by art critics and the artist himself. The essays are available within the site.

·         Bibliography provides a lengthy list of writings on Pascual’s work that have appeared in general and specialised publications.

·         Finally, the site also includes a section with links of interest. The links to the sites of galleries that hold works by Vicente Pascual merit special attention.
