Michael Warren’s M-7 23 exhibited in CDAN garden M-7 23, a sculpture created by Irish artist Michael Warren for the Garden of the Arts at Expo Zaragoza 2008, will be on display in the CDAN garden until 22 January 2009. The title of the sculpture refers to the artist’s initials. Warren has created some of the most interesting public sculptures of the last few decades. [+] |

Artists on the Internet: This month we pay tribute to Aragonese artist Vicente Pascual, who passed away on 25 September. Pascual’s work was shown at the CDAN at the end of 2006 in an exhibition entitled 100 Views of Monte Interior: In Memory of the Madmen of Old. Public interacts with Biennial of Contemporary Art of Seville The third edition of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Seville got underway at the Andalusian Centre for Contemporary Art in Seville and the Palace of Charles V in Granada on October 2. This edition of the event looks at the relationship between art, science, technology and architecture from a contemporary perspective, presenting 180 works by 150 artists. The biennial will run until 11 January 2009.[+] |

CDAN runs second part of photography workshop with Plossu On a weekend devoted to the world of photography (24-25 October), the CDAN hosted the second and final part of a workshop on landscape photography led by French photographer Bernard Plossu. Before the workshop a lecture was given by Paloma Castellanos, the Spanish coordinator of Mexican photographer Pedro Meyer’s Heresies project. The Heresies exhibition can be seen at the CDAN until 9 November 2008. Plossu’s workshop was held in collaboration with the Huesca Art School. [+] |

Madrid to host 9th National Conference on the Environment The 9th National Conference on the Environment will be held from December 1-5, 2008 at the Municipal Conference Centre in the Campo de las Naciones area of Madrid. CONAMA is an evolving event and a number of new elements will be added this year. The most important new developments for this edition will be the internationalisation of the event, a space for reflection, a benchmarking report on a key issue, and a special area for NGOs. [+] |

CDAN to participate in art and nature symposium in São Paulo The Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM) is celebrating its 60th anniversary. To mark the occasion the museum has organised an international symposium to be held on November 7-8. The CDAN will take part in the working sessions, which will address the theme ‘Contemporary Art and Nature: The Expansion of the Territory to Museums’. [+] |

Inside the Museums, Infinity Goes Up on Trial The second International Meeting of Contemporary Art Directors will be held in Cáceres on November 6-8 under the title ‘Dentro del museo, el infinito a juicio’ (Inside the Museums, Infinity Goes Up on Trial). The project is directed by the Association of Spanish Contemporary Art Directors (ADACE) and organised by the Ministry of Culture, the State Corporation for Spanish Cultural Action Abroad (SEACEX), and the Regional Government of Extremadura.
