Artists on the internet: Michael Warren

This month we take a look at the website of Irish sculptor Michael Warren to find out more about his remarkable artistic career. As we reported in the last issue of this newsletter, a work by Warren entitled M-7 23 is currently on exhibit at the CDAN.

Born in Dublin, 1950, the sculptor Michael Warren lives and works in the countryside of County Wexford, Ireland. He completed his studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano, Italy. Over the past thirty years he has regularly exhibited in Dublin, Paris, Cologne and elsewhere. Warren works in bronze, timber, stone, steel and concrete. His commitment and achievement have been recognised the world over. He has created some of the most challenging public sculpture of the last decades. Warren has made large-scale sculptures in Japan, Taiwan, Korea; in Saudi Arabia; in Morocco; in Spain, Portugal, Andorra, France, Ingland, Ireland, in the french West Indies; in the United States of America and in Ecuador.

The website

Michael Warren's official website (entirely in English) provides us with an opportunity to learn more about his impressive artistic career. The site consists of four sections:

  • ‘About’ provides biographical information about the Warren, exhibitions of his work that have been staged, outdoor works, and the latest news about the artist.

  • ‘Interview’ contains a lengthy interview with Michael Warren, conducted by John Hutchinson.

  • ‘Gallery’ presents photos of Warren’s work.

  • Finally, the ‘Contact’ section provides a form that can be used to get in touch with the artist.
