From paradise to urban landscape |

The 36th National Congress on Public Parks and Gardens will be held in Cordoba from April 21 to 25. The theme of this year's edition is ‘from paradise to urban landscape’, and the aim is to provide participants with an opportunity to learn about traditional Andalusian patios, which are a good example of a sustainable approach to gardening that is rooted in history. |

|
Last year's edition, held in Alicante, focused on the distinctive aspects of Mediterranean gardening. This year the congress will take place in the Andalusian city of Cordoba and will devote a day to historical gardening, a day to contemporary gardening, and a day to the future of public gardens and the challenges that lie ahead.
· The patio garden – patios of Cordoba: the living history of gardening · Historical recreation of exceptional gardens · New technologies applied to historical gardening On the second day the focus will shift to Gardens of Today in the City of Tomorrow, with presentations on: · Quality standards in public gardening · Use of urban facilities for play · Computerised management and new technologies The theme for the third day will be Gardens in the Urban Landscape, and presentations will be given on: · The digital green footprint in urban environments · Adapting gardening to meet new urban challenges · Diversity versus simplification of urban landscapes For the last day of the congress, the organisers have scheduled an excursion to visit Madinat-Zahra, the Castle of Almodóvar, and the Moratalla Gardens.
