Art i paisatge: diālegs entre arts visuals i entorn (Art and Landscape: Dialogues between Visual Arts and the Environment) [conference proceedings]

In April 2008, Tarragona’s Museu d'Art Modern organised the 5th Conference on Art Education and Museums, which focused exclusively on the relationships between art and landscape from the perspective of art education.

The conference was aimed at providing a space that would bring together those working in the field of art education in state-regulated settings (primary and secondary schools, universities and art schools) and those involved in the educational activities at museums. The conference proceedings show how artistic languages have explored different ways of relating to nature, while in the field of education the environment is becoming an increasingly important focus of concern.

A lecture delivered by Joan Nogué, director of the Catalan Landscape Observatory, invited conference participants to think about the idea of landscape. Other papers focus on different ways of drawing connections between contemporary art and landscape, the educational activities offered by the CDAN in relation to its Art and Nature collection, and the STALKER project carried out at Barcelona’s Collserola Park.
