Per Kirkeby exhibition
opens at the CDAN

A show featuring the work of Danish artist Per Kirkeby opened at the CDAN on 26 June. The exhibition, which will run until 18 October, explores facets of the artist’s work as a painter and sculptor. Kirkeby is currently one of the foremost creators on the European art scene. In parallel with the exhibition, a seventh landscape installation, created by the artist in the municipality of Plan, has been added to the CDAN’s Art and Nature collection. [+]

CDAN Art and Nature Collection

Since 1994, the province of Huesca has gradually become a territory where internationally acclaimed artists reflect on the landscape and design works that relate specifically to their natural setting. The seventh of these landscape works – created by Danish artist Per Kirkeby in the municipality of Plan (in the Gistaín Valley of the Pyrenees) – was unveiled in June 2009. [+]

Congress of the Spanish Landscape Engineering Association

The 6th Congress of the Spanish Landscape Engineering Association, entitled ‘Bioengineering, Landscape and Territory’, will be held on 16–17 September at the Girona Convention Centre. The aim of the congress is to analyse the relationship between bioengineering techniques applied to land areas and landscape restoration. [+]

CDAN opens call for applications for María Sarrate research grant

One of the aims of the Beulas Foundation is to support and promote research and study of contemporary art. In line with this objective, the CDAN is inviting applications for the second María Sarrate grant for research focusing on the Beulas collection and contemporary art. The deadline for submitting applications is 2:00 p.m. on 1 October 2009. [+]

 
Venice Biennale open
until November

The 53rd edition of the Venice Biennale, entitled Fare mondi (Making Worlds), got underway on 7 June. The Giardini and Arsenale venues and other sites in the area around the city will showcase works created by over 90 international artists. The event will run until 22 November. [+]

New edition of the audiovisual competition Instantes de paisaje (Landscape Moments)

One of the aims of the CDAN, the Beulas Foundation’s Centro de Arte y Naturaleza, is to foster study of the relationships between art and nature. The Landscape Moments competition will select a maximum of 10 projects that promote audiovisual creation and the idea of landscape. The deadline for submitting projects is 2:00 p.m. on 30 September 2009. [+]
