Art, experiences and territories in process

This publication presents projects developed within the framework of Idensitat, through its various facets and levels of action. Idensitat positions itself as a networked production and research space, based in the field of art, for exploring new forms of involvement and interaction in social space.

The book presents specific projects carried out in different cities along with texts written by artists, thinkers, activists, educators, architects, geographers and cultural managers.

It is divided into four sections that reflect the areas of interest the Idensitat project has focused on:

  • Art/place: explorations and experiments in the territory. Authors discuss artistic practices in which the place and context in which an action takes place play a decisive role when it comes to developing working methodologies and formulating questions that directly affect the artistic experience.

  • Local/ultralocal: territories in process. Landscape-related issues that arise in connection with the transformation and expansion of cities.

  • Activism/transformation: social space. Authors discuss issues related to the transformation of the urban context through action and the mobilisation of local inhabitants.

  • Art/pedagogy: educational action. An approach to facilitating changes in the social space by combining creative experiences and educational projects.
