Winners of Landscape Instants 2009 competition announced |

On 13 October the winners of the Instantes de Paisaje 2009 (Landscape Instants) competition were announced. The aim of the competition is to promote the idea of landscape and the creation audiovisual works. The panel of judges unanimously agreed to award the first prize of 2500 euros to Journeys North: Pioneer by Grace Numbi Ndiritu and the second prize of 1000 euros to Natures at the Hand by Patricia Esquivias. |

In the Landscape Instants 2009 competition nine projects were selected from among 127 submissions. The projects will be exhibited at the CDAN in 2010 (dates to be determined). They will subsequently be shown at various festivals and competitions in which the CDAN participates and will also be available at INDOC, the documentation centre of the Centro de Arte y Naturaleza. The members of the panel of judges were: Domingo Malo, chairman of the Huesca Film Festival’s Board of Trustees; Carlos Muguiro, independent curator, founder and director of the Punto de Vista Festival, lecturer at the University of Navarre and the Madrid Film School, and researcher in the field of landscape aesthetics; Patricia Dauder, an artist specialising in video works and lecturer at the University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Fine Arts; and, on behalf of the CDAN, Teresa Luesma, the director of the centre, and Viqui Falcó, head of communications. The panel of judges unanimously agreed to award the first prize of 2500 euros to Journeys North: Pioneer by Grace Numbi Ndiritu and the second prize of 1000 euros to Natures at the Hand by Patricia Esquivias. The winning submissions meet the conditions of entry and reflect the work their creators have put into exploring the concept of landscape. The panel of judges stressed the quality of the submissions and the increase in international participation in the third edition of the competition. The nine selected works are:1.
