Winners of Landscape Instants 2009 competition announced

On 13 October the winners of the Instantes de Paisaje 2009 (Landscape Instants) competition were announced. The aim of the competition is to promote the idea of landscape and the creation audiovisual works. The panel of judges unanimously agreed to award the first prize of 2500 euros to Journeys North: Pioneer by Grace Numbi Ndiritu and the second prize of 1000 euros to Natures at the Hand by Patricia Esquivias. [+]

Middelheim Museum

Middelheim Museum is an open-air museum that offers an outstanding collection of modern and contemporary sculpture. Located on the outskirts of the Belgian city of Antwerp, the museum holds a collection of 480 sculptures by artists including Juan Muñoz and Henry Moore, among many others. [+]

Poznań 16th International Sculpture Triennial

The 16th edition of the Poznań International Sculpture Triennial – entitled ‘The Crisis of the Genre’ – got underway in the Polish city on 3 October. Ninety leading international artists will exhibit their works at the triennial, a not-to-be-missed event for anyone interested in sculpture. The triennial will run until 11 November. [+]

International Seminar on Landscape and Education

The Landscape and Education Seminar will be held at the auditorium of Caixa Catalunya in Barcelona on 19-20 November. The aim of the meeting is to raise public awareness of landscape by leveraging the most reliable and promising tool for achieving long-term results: education.  [+]

 

10th Lyon Biennial of Contemporary Art

Since 16 September the French city of Lyon and nearby communities have been flooded with works created by over 60 artists from around the world. Under the title ‘The Spectacle of the Everyday’, the aim of the Biennale de Lyon is to invite people to think about the why of art. The event will run till 3 January. [+]

Rummaging in the Rubbish

From 29 October to 23 January 2010, the exhibition hall of the Koldo Mitxelena Cultural Centre is presenting an exhibition entitled Rummaging in the Rubbish. The show, a coproduction of the Koldo Mitxelena Cultural Centre and the CDAN, features works created by nine artists using recycled waste materials. On 5 February 2010 the exhibition will move to the CDAN.  [+]
