Lara Almarcegui: A Wasteland on the Banks of the Ebro

The CDAN is producing a guide entitled A Wasteland on the Banks of the Ebro. The publication provides information on a project by Lara Almarcegui, one of a series of artistic interventions developed within the framework of Expo Zaragoza 2008. The guide is written in Spanish and English.  Almarcegui’s project grew out of an agreement to keep a piece of land in a virgin state for as long as possible. [+]

Exhibition of work by Jorge Barbi at the MARCO de Vigo

The sentence ‘I'm lost, don't hold me back’ greets visitors as they enter the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art (MARCO de Vigo) to see an exhibition of work by artist Jorge Barbi. 41º 52’ 59” Latitude N / 8º 51’ 12” Longitude W is based on the idea of the path, the walk, and on everyday observation of nature and its mutations, themes reflected in a vast archive the artist has built up over time. Ibero-American Cultural
Projects Meeting

The Ibero-American Seminar for Cultural Centres will take place in Buenos Aires from 10 to 12 December. The meeting will bring together the managers of leading cultural spaces and is intended to serve as a forum for examining experiences from different regions in order to lay the groundwork for exchanges and the development of future projects.   [+]

 
SPORA: 2nd International Biennial of Ephemeral Art
in Granada

The 2nd International Biennial of Ephemeral Art will take place within the urban fabric of the city of Granada from 15 to 20 December. The event, which seeks to combine tradition and modernity, will link two disparate parts of the city: Sacromonte and the area where Science Park museums and the Cultural Memory Centre of Andalusia are located – key focal points created as places for interaction because of their social, cultural and territorial significance. Portscapes: art projects
in Rotterdam

Portscapes comprises a series of public projects set in motion by the Port of Rotterdam Authority with the advice and support of SKOR (Foundation for Art and Public Space, Amsterdam) and curated by Latitudes. Work on the initiative has been underway throughout 2009, and participating artists include Jan Dibbets and Lara Almarcegui. [+]
