This book presents nine European projects that represent milestones in early 21st-century landscape architecture. The works featured, whether discreetly ambitious or on a large scale, experiment with nature and reflect an approach in which human requirements are given the same importance as economic and environmental considerations. In light of these referents, the authors conclude that destructive practices and misguided planning are on the wane after more than a century and a half, though there are still projects that persist in crossing the fragile limit of sustainability.
