Submissions invited for 6th Rosa Barba European Landscape Prize

The Association of Architects of Catalonia, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and the Government of Catalonia have published the conditions of entry for this competition, which is being held within the framework of the European Landscape Biennial and will take place in Barcelona from 30 September to 2 October 2010.

Since its first edition the aim of the biennial has been to facilitate exploration and discussion of landscape projects from the perspective of landscape architecture and other disciplines linked to the study and evolution of this field. The three-day event will encompass lectures, project presentations, roundtable discussions, and exhibitions related to the evolution of landscape architecture in Europe.

Submissions for the Rosa Barba European Landscape Prize may be made for projects built in Europe between 2005 and 2009. A selection of these projects will be included in an exhibition (and the prize-winner selected from among them). They will also be featured in an international catalogue.

The winning submission will receive a cash prize of €15,000. The panel of judges may not choose not to award the prize. The decision will be announced by an international panel of judges comprised of leading figures in the field of landscape architecture.

The deadline for submissions is 26 February 2010.
