Natural architecture

In the pages of this book, readers will see how certain artists and architects are using the act of construction to create a new relationship between humans, nature, landscape, and the environment.

The structures featured in this book are sensitive to and respectful of their surroundings. In fact, the materials used by the artists represented are drawn from nature: stones, branches, flowers, sand, artfully pruned trees, etc. Thanks to their synergistic relationship with the sites where they are located, and the balanced and fascinating aesthetic on which they are based, these elements – far from having a distorting effect – underscore the value of landscapes that might otherwise go unnoticed.

The publication presents 18 works by different artists and landscape architecture practices. Individual artists featured include David Nash, Bruni & Babarit, Giuliano Mauri, Yutaka Kobayashi, Nils-Udo, François Méchain o Chris Drury.
