Paolo Bürgi Landscape Architect: Discovering the (Swiss) Horizon: Mountain, Lake and Forest. Raffaella Fabiani Giannetto (ed.). New York : Princeton Architectural Press, 2009. 143 pages with colour illustrations.

Paolo Bürgi is one of the most internationally acclaimed landscape architects, probably because his minimalist approach reveals the essence of the places where his interventions are sited. Bürgi accomplishes this by taking into account the cultural, geological and topographical characteristics of each particular site and landscape. This book features three of his most notable projects in Switzerland: the Cardada Mountain revitalization in Locarno, the harbour square in Kreuzlingen, and the Terrace on the Forest in Ticino. Bürgi has been commissioned to create the next landscape installation to be added to the CDAN’s Art and Nature collection.
