De varia restauratione: Teoría e Historia de la Restauración Arquitectónica. Written by Javier Rivera Blanco. Madrid : Abada, 2008. 246 pages with black-and-white illustrations.

This monograph is an indispensable manual that offers an insight into the principles behind the restoration of buildings and monuments and looks at how the criteria applied in this field have evolved. The book brings together a series of texts and notes on architectural restoration, a discipline that has now begun to undergo a period of expansion in Spain. Texts cover various instances of restoration, in both Spain and the rest of the world, and the publication concludes with a look at the Charter of Krakow, the most recent international document on architectural restoration, drafted by professionals from over 40 countries in Europe and the Americas.
