Arder en deseos: la concepción de la fotografía. Written by Geoffrey Batchen. Barcelona : Gustavo Gili, 2004. 255 pages with black-and-white illustrations. This monograph examines recent accounts of photography by way of a detailed analysis of the medium’s conception. The author presents extensive information about photography's earliest experimenters and their milieus, and goes on to sketch out a vision of the essence of this discipline within the framework of postmodern thinking. The result of this analysis is a way of thinking about photography that accords with the medium’s conceptual, political and historical complexity.
