For the exhibition True, which will run at the CDAN from 25 September to 12 December, the centre has published an offprint with the Spanish translation of the original-language texts included in the catalogue. |

The images by Thomas Joshua Cooper featured in this catalogue are of exceptional intensity. The black-and-white photos were taken on Cooper’s travels around the edges of the Atlantic Ocean, mainly in the north and south polar regions. In an essay included in the catalogue, Ben Tufnell, curator of the Haunch of Venison gallery, writes that Cooper’s project ‘is an ambitious conceptual art project mapping the multi-faceted and layered intersections of geological, geographical and human history. As such it must be understood in the context of Land and Conceptual Art’. The pages of this catalogue showcase the work of an artist who succeeds in capturing unsettling landscapes with his camera, evoking the fear and curiosity we experience in the face of the unknown.
