Art and Nature Educational Guide

The CDAN has published its first Art and Nature Educational Guide. The guide uses an engaging, accessible approach to study the works that make up the Art and Nature Collection and their relationship to the landscape, as well as proposing activities related to the works.

Developed by the CDAN's team of educators, the guide is intended as a new tool for teachers and the general public. It helps visitors get to know the works in the Art and Nature Collection, as well as explaining the context for the pieces, which are linked to Huesca’s landscape, and ensuring that they are widely embraced.

The sculptures that belong to this special collection are scattered around the province of Huesca rather than being contained in a museum. Educational activities must be varied and flexible to ensure that distance, weather conditions, the conceptual content, and other factors do not prevent people from the gaining a greater appreciation of the works.

The guide presents and studies the artists Long, Rückiem, Armajani, Casás, Nash, Carneiro and Kirkeby, and takes a look at the works they have created in the natural environment. Hands-on activities are also suggested to round off the educational experience. The guide can be used by teachers to help their students get to know the pieces in the collection and carry out a follow-up activity, or by families and other members of the public who decide to make a trip to one of the sites.
