Landscape and heritage [course proceedings]

The CDAN has published the fifth and final book in a series of monographs entitled Thinking Landscape, a project the centre has pursued as a means of exploring the notion of landscape from a variety of perspectives. In this publication, the complex relationships that can arise between landscape and heritage are analysed.

Directed by Javier Maderuelo, professor of landscape architecture at the University of Alcalá, the course on which this monograph is based featured contributions by leading specialists whose work focuses on areas where landscape and heritage overlap. Together, the contributors explore the rapid transformation of the territory at a time when an effort is being made to highlight the value of landscape through its conservation, restoration and rehabilitation, tasks that are of particular interest when it comes to thinking about an evolving landscape.
