CDAN celebrates
fifth anniversary

The CDAN celebrated its fifth birthday on 27 January 2011 with a series of activities for visitors, meetings with the press, and radio and television programmes broadcast from the centre.

The CDAN has sought to showcase different ways of seeing nature and landscape in the context of contemporary art, as well as supporting art education, training, and specialised research. [+]

Stonehenge Visitor Centre

The large number of visits the megalithic monument receives every day has highlighted the need to take action to upgrade and enhance this unique heritage site and the surrounding landscape. [+]

Artist-designed
items for sale

The CDAN is offering for sale a unique collection of calendars designed by the artists we work with. These limited edition products are produced in a way that makes each individual item unique. [+]

Landscape and heritage
[course proceedings]

The CDAN has published the fifth and final book in a series of monographs entitled Thinking Landscape, a project the centre has pursued as a means of exploring the notion of landscape from a variety of perspectives. In this publication, the complex relationships that can arise between landscape and heritage are analysed. [+]

Botánica: After Humboldt – upcoming exhibition at the CDAN

Botánica: After Humboldt, which opens at the CDAN on 11 March, features the work of six acclaimed contemporary artists whose peculiar botanical studies recover a direct form of beauty and reconstruct other imagined possibilities. Intelligence, irony, beauty and opportunity unite them in a chapter to which we could apply the subtitle ‘After Humboldt’. The show is curated by Rosa Olivares and will run until 22 May. [+]

Fifth edition of Landscape Moments competition

The CDAN has opened its fifth annual competition for audiovisual works, organised in collaboration with Huesca’s Fundación Festival de Cine. A maximum of 10 projects will be selected with the aim of promoting the idea of landscape and audiovisual creation. The closing date for submissions is 1 July.  [+]

 

2nd landscape photography workshop with Bernard Plossu

This year the CDAN will offer the second edition of a workshop on landscape photography led by Bernard Plossu. The workshop will be held from 15 to 17 April in Alquézar and Sierra de Guara (Huesca). The French photographer is regarded as one of the great travelling artists of our times. The 30 places available will be filled strictly based on order of enrolment. [+]

iD#6 – Art interventions
in public space

Within the framework of the project Ceci n’est pas une voiture: Nomadic Devices Loom around the Museum, a call has been issued inviting proposals for two projects involving intervention in the public space of Mataró and Vic. The deadline for submissions is 12 March. [+]
