CDAN invites applications
for research grants

One of the aims of the Beulas Foundation’s Centro de Arte y Naturaleza is to promote study and research on contemporary art in its area of interest. In recent weeks, the Centre has published calls for applications for the María Sarrate Research Grant and the Thinking Landscape Grant. Submissions will be accepted until September for the first grant and until October in the second case. [+]

The Zentrum Paul Klee in Berne was designed by Renzo Piano to give the impression that the building is emerging from the ground, an approach that evokes the land art movement.  [+]

Contemporary art and
special education

This publication – an initiative of the educational services of the Centro de Arte y Naturaleza, La Panera of Lleida, and Es Baluard of Palma de Mallorca – presents the results and conclusions of a project that involved setting up an exchange network to link special education programmes and contemporary art centres. Countdown to
48th IFLA World Congress

The World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects will be held in the Swiss city of Zürich from 27 to 29 June. The congress, which focuses on the theme ‘Scales of Nature’, will explore landscape issues in relation to urban, peri-urban and rural environments. The organisers are expecting 700 landscape architecture professionals from around the world to attend. [+]

CDAN devotes exhibition to museums of the 21st century

The exhibition Museums in the 21st Century: Concepts, Projects, Buildings is being presented for the first time in Spain. The 27 projects featured in the show are some of the most interesting and important building plans for museums completed or in progress between 2000 and 2011. After a tour that has included stops in Canada, the United States and European countries, the exhibition is ending its itinerary at the CDAN. [+]

 

Richard Long featured in
two exhibitions in Berlin

Work by Richard Long, a leading exponent of land art, is being featured in Berlin Circle and Land Art, two exhibitions being held at the Museum für Gegenwart in Berlin. Both shows opened on 26 March, and they will run until 31 July 2011 and 15 January 2012, respectively. [+]

CDAN organises photography workshop with Bleda and Rosa


‘A Mile from Huesca’ – a workshop designed exclusively for the CDAN by María Bleda and José María Rosa – will be held from 1 to 3 July 2011. Inspired by ‘The Last Mile to Huesca’, a poem by John Cornford, Bleda and Rosa have planned a practical workshop with the aim of reading the landscape and architecture of this strip where the city ends.
